Progress Center for Independent Living is holding our 30th Anniversary Liberty Gala on Thursday, September 20, 2018. The celebration will be at the Elmcrest Banquet Hall in Elmwood Park, Illinois.

For three decades, Progress Center has provided people with disabilities with the tools and resources to be independent in their own communities.  At the Gala on September 20th, we will celebrate the success and history of Progress Center, and honor the work of individuals and organizations that are making a difference in the disability community.

The honorees for the 30th Anniversary Liberty Gala include:

U.S. Representative Danny Davis–For his work to support the rights and independence of people with disabilities.

Tom Holmes, Forest Park Review —  For giving voice to the issues facing people with disabilities and elevating the work of Progress Center through the media.

Cambiando Vidas — For their work to protect and enforce the independence Latinos with disabilities

Progress Center for Independent Living is part of a network of 22 Centers for Independent Living in Illinois.  Founded in 1988, Progress Center is a non-profit, non-residential service and advocacy organization operated by and for people with disabilities in our service area of suburban Cook County. We provide services in English, Spanish, and Sign-Language across the life span for individuals with all types of disabilities.  Progress Center is staffed by, and governed by, people with disabilities. By empowering people with disabilities to define and achieve their goals, and working together to change society, Centers for Independent Living like Progress Center help millions of people across the country.
